This week's Good Queer News is full of reasons to feel hopeful.

The EU's highest court just ruled that Hungary's anti-LGBTQ law violates EU law, marking the first time an EU court has found a member state breached the union's founding values. Hungary must repeal its 2021 law banning LGBTQ content for minors or face fines. A powerful reminder that human rights are not optional.

Six extraordinary LGBTQ+ people made Time's 100 Most Influential People of 2026, including transgender civil rights attorney Shannon Minter, who has fought multiple cases challenging anti-trans policies all the way to the Supreme Court. His colleague described him as someone with 'a soft core, a brilliant mind, and a love for all beings that radiates even in a courtroom.'

Jonah Segil, a 16-year-old high school junior from Manhattan Beach, raised over $150,000 for UCLA's Center for LGBTQ Advocacy, Research and Health after it lost federal funding due to budget cuts. He became the first high school student ever to receive UCLA's Meritorious LGBTQ+ Service Award and a certificate from Rep. Ted Lieu. When a teen channels outrage into action, watch out.
