What I found most interesting about researching this topic about gay slang is that it is ever-evolving. Thinking about how we evolve to survive as groups and as individuals, and how it's so important to find the things that bind us and allow those things to shift and adjust. Polari has changed. We don't use it anymore, and yet it was really important to bind and bring people together, give them a common language.
As we move forward, what are those things? Being open to them, just as, generationally, there are language differences, being open to that and understanding that it's okay to not know every word, but to respect them and to allow them to exist.
